How I upgraded Lenovo Ideapad 310 RAM from 4GB to 12GB

About two years ago I bought Lenovo Ideapad with Intel Core i5 7th generation processor having 4GB of RAM, works pretty well with daily routine applications. But sometimes it started lagging with more than 3 applications opened.

This version of Ideapad supported two slots for RAM one is already attached to the motherboard which is 4GB and another one empty for an upgrade. We can upgrade to up to 12GB in total by adding maximum 8GB in an empty slot.

After getting this information from various forums and user manual, I started the search for a good upgrade options available matching and compatible with my laptop.

In local shops, especially the company outlets deals may seem too costly but online purchase proved a good option. I ordered Crucial CT8G4SFS824A 8GB DDR4-2400 PC4-19200 CL-17 SODIMM RAM with a good price of 3198 Rs which got delivered in 4 days to my home 😛

I never dared to open my laptop my after watching some videos I switched in this RAM in the 2nd empty slot.

This is really a good RAM now my PC is showing in a total of 12GB RAM and performing very well. Now I can open multiple applications which are heavy enough to consume RAM like Android Studio, Visual Studio Code, etc.

Crucial is a very reputed brand to invest in, having a great market. This is piece comes with a warranty of three years. I am happy with it 🙂
