How to Create Ionic v3 App in Latest CLI v4.9.0 for Ionic v4

As the latest stable version of the Ionic framework, V4 has been released which is way more future proof and easily adaptable with new frameworks like react, Vuejs etc by using web components technology. But still, there are some developers who may prefer version 3 of Ionic as routing of ionic was having much more similarities to the native environment in terms of keeking view data or maintain the history of a view intact. We can easily use push & pop methods of NavController in ‘ionic-angular’ package.

What’s New ? Ionic 4 Stable Release is Here!

Very much awaited Ionic’s Version 4 is finally released with full of celebrations and feelings full of thrillers by the Ionic team. According to the team Back in 2013 Ionic was introduced in support with AngularJS to make is compatible with the latest choice of developers at that time. Ionic 4 | Overridden Back Press Event and Show Exit Confirm on Application Close

We have already discussed How to Override Back Press Event in Ionic’s V3 which we can easily do by using Platform’s registerBackButtonAction method. But in Ionic’s V4 version this method simply does not work.

Ionic 4 | Adding Native Storage in Application Using Cordova SQLite Storage Plugin

In this post, we will add Cordova’s SQLite storage plugin in Ionic version 4 Application. This is the common and widely used storage plugin by most of the Ionic developers since version 1 of Ionic. Storage is widely used to store personalized settings by the user in the application which is not required to be stored on the server side.

Application developers sometimes need to save a bunch of information on the user side to control some features and provide some offline functionalities to application users, in that case, local storage proves very handy. Using Ionic’s Native storage plugin we can storage key value pairs which may have any type of data from a simple string or integers to JSON objects. But this locally stored data will remain until the application is Uninstalled or device is formatted.
