We have already discussed How to Override Back Press Event in Ionic’s V3 which we can easily do by using Platform’s registerBackButtonAction method. But in Ionic’s V4 version this method simply does not work.
So in this post, we will create an Ionic V4 Application to demonstrate overriding of Back Press Event in Ionic 4 Application. We will also discuss how to get the current Component name to handle it more conveniently.
In this post, we will discuss an issue faced by many Ionic Framework developers related to getting the current page/ view/ component name in the application. In an Ionic application which using Lazy Loading to partially load components are facing such issue.
An Ionic framework application makes development very easy and fast for multiple platforms, but sometimes due to performance issues like fluctuation in animations, jerk movements during user interactions calls for some tricky solutions to manage code with better optimizations.
Getting Call logs from a device in the application can be used in a number of ways for genuine purposes like to share invite link or message someone from an application itself.
In Ionic also we can get Call Logs of the device using Cordova and ionic Native plugins. Usage of Call Logs plugin is easy but a little tricky.
In this post, we will add Cordova’s SQLite storage plugin in Ionic version 4 Application. This is the commanly and widely used storage plugin by most of the Ionic developers since version 1 of Ionic. Storage is widely used to store personalized settings by the user in the application which is not required to be stored on server side.
Application developers sometimes need to save a bunch of information on the user side to control some features and provide some offline functionalities to application users, in that case, local storage proves very handy. Using Ionic’s Native storage plugin we can storage key value pairs which may have any type of data from a simple string or integers to JSON objects. But this locally stored data will remain until the application is Uninstalled or device is formatted.
A few days back I was facing a strange issue i.e Plugin Not Installed! in of my Ionic 3 Application. The weird thing about this issue was, the application was working fine in development APK and even after creating productions release of APK it was working fine, the issue used to happen when I installed the application from Playstore after release.
In the previous post, we discussed how to get location coordinates using Geolocation and then converting those coordinates into understandable addresses. But adding a map in a mobile application really adds much value making it more useful and interactive. Google Map API can be used to add fully featured maps anywhere, In this post, we will implement Maps in Ionic 4 Application and also use Geolocation and Geocoder plugin to fetch device location then fetch Address available for those coordinates we get.
Clipboard is referred to a special memory space provided in the device, specialized to keep last copied data like text, images, files etc. Clipboard is a temporary space which is washed out as user copies new data and replaces existing data.
In the previous post we discuss on the implementation of Clipboard plugin in Ionic version 3, but here we will implement the clipboard plugin in Ionic latest version 4. It is still in beta phase but soon it will be available as stable.
In this tutorial we will implement Clipboard or Copy Paste plugin in Ionic 4 application, using which developer can provide a handy operation to a user for easy copy and paste features on some event like button click as sometimes it takes much time to select text and paste it somewhere by deleting existing and long tap to paste.
